IN THIS ISSUE OF COSMIK DEBRIS:
Cosmik Debris returns from the dead, with "beard rock" stars Akron/Family; XM Radio's resident bluesmeister, Bill Wax; the beautiful and talented Lisa Germano; Gary Pig Gold's best of 2006; Rusty Pipes discusses the I word (impeachment!); Eric Steiner hits the blues festival trail once again; Holly Day kicks off a new column about the trials and tribulations of the modern day poet; and, of course, reviews up the ying-yang! All in this, the first issue of Cosmik Debris since 2005.
COSMIK RADIO!:
Soon, Cosmik Radio will return, but instead of the
old Real Audio format, it will be available in as a
Podcast, so you'll be able to download it and take
it with you anywhere. Look for it along with the
next issue of Cosmik Debris, which will be available
as of July 1st.

AKRON/FAMILY -
Have you heard about Beard Rock? If you have, then you probably know all about Akron/Family. Or do you? Article by Holly Day.
XM RADIO'S BILL WAX -
Eric Steiner talks to the man who champions the blues on XM Radio, sending the best unknowns and biggest legends into your car, your living room, and now, even your computer speakers.
LISA GERMANO -
Once a fixture with John Mellencamp's band, Lisa Germano has become an outstanding solo artist in her own right. Her latest album, In The Maybe World, looks at life from a different perspective than you may be used to: one of appreciation. Article by Holly Day.
CD & RECORD REVIEWS - Over 100 reviews of music from more genres than you can shake a stick at.
EVERYTHING ELSE IN REVIEW - Not as many of these, so you can shake a stick, if you're so inclined. Still, a nice stack of book, DVD and movie reviews for your enjoyment.
CLOSET PHILOSOPHY - Rusty dusts off that too-seldom spoken word, at least in this era: impeachment.
COSMIK BLUES - Eric Steiner's roundup of all things blues, including information about the upcoming International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
PIGSHIT - Gary looks at ten albums you may have missed in 2006.
WHY I DRINK: A POET'S SURVIVAL GUIDE - Holly Day kicks off her new column about the trials and tribulations of the modern poet.

COSMIK RADIO - Want an
hour of music that
fits the
personality of Cosmik Debris Magazine? That's right, Sinatra segues into
Megadeth into
Peter Tosh into Man Or Astro-Man into... well, you get the picture. It's a
little something
we like to call Genre Whiplash. Or maybe you're in the mood for a trip into The
Fog Machine,
our mix of music of the ethereal variety. All you need is a RealAudio player.
Come on in.
OUR OWN WEBSITES - Many of the
Cosmik Debris
writers have websites of their own. We have some links right here.
Welcome back to Cosmik Debris Magazine. We've been gone since December, 2005, in case you lost track. As you may remember, we had to shut it down due to health issues that have caused me some trouble. The thing is... you do a magazine like this for a decade and just quit? I don't think so. In order to make it workable, Cosmik Debris will be a quarterly from now until such time that I am up and shooting jump shots again, at which point it may become a monthly again. Meanwhile, we hope you'll check us out every three months, and we hope you come away with something you didn't get elsewhere. The review sections are still wildly diverse, and we continue to bring you articles about and interviews with artists we think are deserving of your attention. There will continue to be some changes around here as we try different things to make everything run smoothly, so bear with us if there are a few rough spots. That's about it for now. I hope you enjoy our return issue. Thanks for reading.
