HONEYBOY EDWARDS
I've Been Around (32 Blues)

32 Blues has found another gem in their newest reissue of a Trix blues release.
Honeyboy Edwards, a contemporary of Robert Johnson and Charley Patton, recorded
these sides in the late 70's and I'm glad Joel Dorn and Company over at 23 Blues
have brought Honeyboy to new blues audiences in the new millennium. Honeyboy,
indeed, can surely say I've Been Around. There's a whole lot of acoustic
country blues on this disc, but when he plugs in on "Ride With Me Tonight," "I
Feel So Good Today" or "The Woman I'm Loving," he shines. Big Walter Horton
helps out on harp and Eddie El plays bass on "You're Gonna Miss Me" and "Things
Have Changed," and it don't matter if Honeyboy is unplugged or not: he's got
his own way and fans of country blues a la Charley Patton are the richer for it.
