THE DAVE RAVE GROUP
Valentino's Pirates (M'Lou Music)

You know, I don't remember much about Teenage Head, except that one of my friends was dating one of the members maybe twenty years ago, and while that was a really big deal among Head groupies in Canada, it didn't mean a whole hell of a lot here in the States. Anyway, this Dave Rave Group reissue (first released in Russia in 1992) is noticeably more subdued than what Dave Rave was doing in Teenage Head, kind of rough, acoustic ballady-stuff, with cool guitar work (which is, after all, what he's "famous" for), with crazy sax interludes and psychedelic washes and echoes.
