Audio Book: Striding Folly

This is a collection of three Lord Peter Whimsey short stories: "Striding Folly," "The Haunted Policeman," and "Talboys." "Striding Folly" is the story of a murder, with a strange foretelling nightmare and surreal denoument. Lord Peter Whimsey is called in to investigate, and, as only he can, cuts through the suspicion and doubt to expose the truth of the matter. "The Haunted Policeman" finds Lord Peter becoming a father and only too willing to take up the strange story the policeman tells as a distraction from the full weight of all he has just witnessed. Once again, with his characteristic clear vision and humor, he cuts through what appears to be true and restores the policeman's faith in himself and his reputation."Talboys" is the story that truly lets the reader (listener) get to know Lord Peter Whimsey and his family. His child-rearing methods have been called in to question by the apparent serious misbehavior of his young son; said son, however, is endearing in his faith that his father will not punish him unfairly and will discover the truth of the matter. Lord Peter is once again faced with impossible circumstances in which he discovers the possibility, exposes the true miscreant, and at the same time removes a thorn in his family's side.
