PARADISE
Paradise (Indie)

Borrowing Nirvana's thundering bottom end to ground their bizarre Polynesian metal onslaught, Paradise certainly know how to get attention. The relentless riffs come thick and heavy, with nary a break for nine brutal tracks. The unnatural obsession with Tiki gods, long relegated to the lounge set, is novel, and gives the band the required schtick factor we so dearly crave. I'm guessing the live show is a hoot. Comes with a fancy drink umbrella - nice.
