No Vacation from the World (Kung Fu Records)

Yeah, this kind of music always bums me out. So much emphasis has been
placed on the band being from Israel that I was really expecting to hear
something different than your usual fare of Green Day-esque punk rock when I
put this on, only to find myself being treated to something that could have
just as easily been from some p-rock band from Southern California. I'd
probably like this album better if it wasn't for my fear of a universally
homogenous culture, fueled by MTV and VH1's vision of what music is. If
you're not like me, however, and the idea of being able to travel all over
the world and hear bands that sound exactly and comfortably like Green Day
or The Descendants/Milo, then you'll probably just dig the hell out of this.
