Zoppi is made up of Bob Zoppi with Rick and Paul Vogelsang. The liner notes don't say who does what exactly, but Mr. Zoppi has a hand in writing everything, and the brothers Vogelsang help out in most cases. That's good enough, because they're real good at doing that. Sure, the lyrics can often descend into alt.life.ain't.it.awful territory, and the arrangements occasionally smack of the "if it's dense and muddy enough, they'll have to take us seriously" syndrome, but despite that (which is, actually, exactly what a reasonable share of the music market is looking for), there's an underlying pop structure that they can't hide and it's enough to redeem every track and put Zoppi well ahead of the pack.

If terrific songs and major label deal aren't enough to get these guys over (oh, yeah, and they're MTV quality good-looking, too), they should sign a songwriting deal and get rich that way. These tunes are that good.
