Rusty Pipes munches some popcorn in the Cineplex whilst watching A.I. and Final Fantasy, and on top of that he also brings us installment 3 in The Golden Age Of Art Rock. AND Closet Philosophy. How does he do it? Uppers, we suspect. Gary Pig Gold tosses his eight favorite questions Mark Helm's way, and to top it all off we have lots and lots and lots of reviews. So get busy!

Audible Debris COSMIK RADIO!: There hasn't been a new Cosmik Radio since the Nixon Administration!!! We know, we know. Thank you for your e-mail's. Yes, we read them. But fear not, a new schedule is on its way beginning August 20th. You just need a RealAudio Player to listen. If you don't have one, go pick one up. Cosmik Radio is just the kind of Net-Only audio that radio station program directors don't want you getting hooked on. So go ahead. Inhale!

TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND - Melding music of many cultures and living to tell the tale, TGU managed to create something brand new in the process amd influence a new generation of musicians. And yet they were the new generation of musicians themselves. The result? TGU is one of the few bands to outlive the many bands that came into being because of their influence. Interview by DJ Johnson.

ERIC CLAPTON - He's about had it, you know. Nothing left to prove, really. I mean, what HAS he got to prove? He's Eric "Slowhand" Freakin' Clapton, for cryin' out loud. So this is gonna be it. This tour. Catch this one, because there ain't no more. This is aaaaaaall she wrote. This one and maybe one more in a few years. Or two more. Maybe an all-acoustic blues thing, but that's it. Unless the right people asked nice... Eric's "final" tour reviewed by Eric Steiner.

THE GOLDEN AGE OF ART ROCK PT 3 - Time to grab our books and head back up the path to Solid State University for class number three in The Golden Age Of Art Rock. The professor will be speaking on the topic of fantastic bands that never made it to household name status. By Rusty Pipes.

KING CRIMSON TAKES TO THE ROAD - Our newest writer, W. K. Brinkmoeller, was in attendance on opening night in Cincinatti, Ohio, home of Adrian Belew and, as you will see, the site of one amazing performance by a band that passed legendary status so long ago we're still looking for new superlatives for them.

CROSBY, PEVAR & RAYMOND - David Crosby, Jeff Pevar amd Crosby's son, James Raymond make up a creative musical unit cleverly named CPR. We've covered their shows before, and they're habit forming. Tim & Ananda Owen got their fix this month. We're arm wrestling for it next time they come to town.

CD & RECORD REVIEWS - Everything from rock to jazz to hip-hop and back again.

MOVIE REVIEWS - A.I. and Final Fantasy are given the once over by Rusty Pipes.

PIGSHIT - This month Gary gives you the poop on the pop. The power pop, that is.

CLOSET PHILOSOPHY - Rusty Pipes with an update from the front lines of the war on drugs.

CREDITS - The names and e-mail addresses of the people responsible for this thing.

COSMIK RADIO - Want an hour of music that fits the personality of Cosmik Debris Magazine? That's right, Sinatra segues into Megadeth into Peter Tosh into Man Or Astro-Man into... well, you get the picture. It's a little something we like to call Genre Whiplash. Or maybe you're in the mood for a trip into The Fog Machine, our mix of music of the ethereal variety. All you need is a RealAudio player. Come on in.

INTERNET RADIO STATIONS - Great radio is alive and well on the Net! Cosmik Debris presents links to take you where the good ones are hiding, from St. Louis to Dublin. You're no longer stuck with just the "classic rock," "young country" and "24-hour talk" that has your town held hostage.

OUR OWN WEBSITES - Many of the Cosmik Debris writers have websites of their own. We have some links right here.

This month we welcome a new journalist to the staff of Cosmik Debris. His name is W. K. Brinkmoeller and you can check out his feature on the first show of King Crimson's tour. Interesting how it worked out this month... King Crimson is definitely a band of the past, but they are still making powerful music. Listen to their latest release if you have doubts. Eric Clapton is a monument to the history of rock and roll, and there he is in our pages, alongside another monument to the history of rock and roll, David Crosby (see the CPR article). And just to make sure that we didn't stray from this very un-Cosmik like plan, we went ahead and ran part three of The Golden Age of Art Rock. Sitting atop this mound of history is Transglobal Underground, a band that constantly changes all the rules and creates new genres as afterthoughts. A strange lineup indeed. Normally we would have it spread out more, but this is just the way things fell into place this month. Next month is already shaping up into mondo weirdness. Funny how things fall sometimes. So welcome to the largely "classic rock" edition of Cosmik Debris Magazine. Enjoy, and we'll see you next month.
