OZZY OSBOURNE
Live At Budokan (Epic)

Reviewed by John Sekerka

Striking while the iron is hot (say, who does the ironing in the family? is it the iron man?), Ozzy Osbourne extends his recent reality teevee superstar status to the stage. Ozzy "Live at Budokan" sounds like it happened back in the eighties, but strangely no, this no-brainer cash cow is a new release. Even without his old mates, Osbourne continues to crank out classic Black Sabbath metal much to the delight of millions. Seventy-seven bludgeoning minutes of fist pumping material that the legions already own several times over, but will no doubt swallow again. Even as he metamorphoses into the Benny Hill of heavy metal, Ozzy continues to be a vital force in the music scene. One of the greatest mysteries of rock and roll.
