Never Heard Of It is the epitome of do-it-yourself power punk rock. Hailing from Covina, California and first hitting the road in 2001 with nothing but a bunch of rambunctious power chord tunes and a Chevy van, NHOI has logged over 100,000 miles doing shows all over the country. All this effort means that slowly but surely NHOI -- DJ Dell'Osa on lead vocals, Jeff Anenberg on guitar, Elmo Jamz on drums and Rick Avery on bass -- has been building up a fan base; since last year they sold over 18,000 copies of their self-produced own CD, Limited Edition, on their own label, Unmotivated Records. This year NHOI became a quintet, having added guitarist Greg Lynch, and they've also upgraded the Chevy to an RV for their SEVENTH tour of the country.
Last summer NHOI was the only unsigned band that played every date on the Warped Tour. Sill unsigned this year, they were invited back for Warped 2003. Warped of course is probably the best touring rock show around, one that still connects with the reckless abandon that originally defined punk. The tour started in Boise, Idaho on June 19th, with NHOI becoming one of a very few bands that's played every show.
In homage to Never Heard Of It's DIY attitude, rather than crank out another boring what's-your-favorite-color interview, we asked the members of NHOI write us in their own words the story of their adventures on Warped Tour 2003. So grab your Rand-MacNallys and follow along, but be sure to don your helmets and combat boots too. This all comes directly from the front where the decibels fly, no prisoners are taken and nothing is spellchecked.
Editor's note: Several of the following entries were written especially for Cosmik Debris by DJ Dell'0sa and the rest were originally posted on the NHOI website during the Warped tour. By the way, Edgar is NHOI's webmaster who was riding along with the band.

WHOLE LOT OF STUFF
What up yall. This is DJ. I'm gonna try to post here every day to recap on what went down. Basically here's the dealio so far. Warped started yesterday and it was super gnarly cause there was a nasty ass rain storm that cleared everyone out but luckily it didn't happen till the end of the day. Our tent is kinda worked and a bunch a merch got wet but we made it. Today it was super hot all day and things were going well till all of a sudden another sick storm hit. What's up with these cities? It was gnarly once again. The rain stopped and we played to a bunch of really cool muddy kids. We have been having a lot of fun over all hanging out with all of our friends in bands and all of our friends that's we have made at the booth. I can't believe this is only day two. I'll post again tomorrow... We want to be as interactive as possible each night for you all. Go to the message board and let us know what you want to see and what we can do better to make the warped section sick.
Oh yeah, in other news Elmo lost over a hundred dollars to Mike Frazier while playing C Note. He got hustled but plans to redeem himself tomorrow.
And again in other news I'd like to thank first and foremost all of our sponsor's that have been so rad to us. Ebeltz, BodyPunkS, Amerikan, Active, Sullen, Maphia and Chipotle. And make sure you check out some of our best friends on the tour, Matchbook Romance, Poison The Well, Simple Plan, Thrice, Letter Kills, The Used, 2 Cents, DMS, Suicide Machines, Andrew WK and a million others. You are gonna have so much fun this year at Warped! Talk to you tomorrow.

Salty Lake is Rad!
We had a whole lot of fun in Utah. A little bit of drizzle but the show was off the hizzle. It was rad to be back in Salt Lake City and the kids made it so worth it. We're definitely looking forward to coming back in the fall. We did an interview today with Rick Thorn and FOX Sports and it was about how we are the hardest working DIY band on the tour and the only unsigned band to play two years straight. We don't know exactly when it will be aired but keep your eyes open for that.
Tomorrow we'll be in Colorado and we're having Chipotle come out and bring burritos for the whole Warped Tour bands and crew. Have you had Chipotle yet? Do you love it as much as we do? We eat it like 3 times a week! That's about it. Check you later.

Denver BRONCOS...
Denver has been pretty rad... the crowds at the last couple days of Warped have been amazing... Everything is running smooth and we all feel like nothing can stop us right now... One thing I do know for sure is that we took showers in the Denver broncos locker room... (really awesome) * I checked another thing off my "Things to do in my lifetime" list.

WichiWHAT?
First off, Wichita had the worst weather possible today... it was insane.... The wind was so harsh... it was blowing everyone's tent over and there was dirt flying everywhere... *everyone's feet were disgusting* Other than that, NHOI had a great set... the people in Wichita (all 50 of them) were amazing...
Once the night was over, the BBQ began... it went on till about 2 or 3 in the morning and everyone was having fun, Tim Armstrong was leading people in a sing along and Elmo, Edgar and Bruce were playing black jack with Mike Frazier all night...

We Got Rained Out AGAIN! :(
We're in Indianapolis now and it looks like it's gonna be a rad day. So far the tour has been amazing and so much better than we ever expected. Everyone has made us feel so welcome in their city and the shows have been bigger than ever. We ran out of merchandise much sooner than expected so last night after the show we stopped by Wal Mart and bought every blank shirt they had available. With that, some stencils and a few cans of spray paint...I've been making a special one time only limited edition NHOI shirt.

June 28, 2003 Minneapolis, MN
A DAY BY THE POND...
Wow Indianapolis was off the hizzy. And everyone seemed to be real stoked on the shirts we made. I will continue to make them for the next two shows until we get more real merch sent to us. We have a long drive ahead of us to Minneapolis.
Check you late.

WHAT AN AWESOME DAY!!
Chiiiiccago! We love Chicago and can't wait to play here again in the fall. That was only our second time playing here, the first time being last year at Warped. We completely ran out of all merchandise. No more CD's or shirts left and but the good news is we have a huge shipment on the way with some new designs. There were just about 500 NHOI shirts that I made myself and it was kinda crazy cause as fast as I could make them people were buying them. Check em' out in the pics below.. I felt like I was working in a factory or a sweat shop and now I think I should be a professional tagger or spray paint T-shirt maker. haha. I'll write again tomorrow.
Later yall.

MY (EDGAR) 1st Day In Chicago!! (Ever)
We're taking a few days off from the tour and skipping the Canada dates. We'll meet back up with everyone in Seattle, WA so that means we have like 5 days off and a 50 hour drive ahead of us. The Used took those days off too so today we're just hanging out in the City and relaxing by the pool and taking advantage of having nothing to do. That's about it. We're gonna be making tons of updates on these days off so keep checking back. We're finally getting a wire for the computer too so that we can stream video footage.
So it's all coming! Check it!

FOURTH OF JULY!!!
Yo what's up everyone....
We are having a blast on our days off (due to the Canada dates) hopefully we will be hitting up Canada later this year or early next year... As for the band, everyone is doing great... we are all having fun and watching movies on our off days... With that said....
Terminator 3 - Deff. a good movie to watch, really surprised us because... Greg and Jeff both think that T3 was interesting because it unfolded a lot of the plot and it was all well put together...
The Hulk - Total Let down... Don't go watch this movie...
28 Days Later - one of our favorite movies... If you love movies like se7en, Memento and resident evil you will really enjoy this one... (Greg and Edgar both give it 5 stars, because it is a huge realization for man kind)
Legally blond 2 - Really funny and original... Really surprised all of us, and had us laughing the majority of the movie... (really rad, go watch it)
- Edgar
P.S. Sorry for the late update, we haven't been able to connect to the Internet ever since we entered Washington.... (sorry)
July 5, 2003 Seattle, WA
SEATTLE WASHINGTON!!
WOW, that's all we can really say.... The gorge in Seattle Washington is AMAZING... its a natural amphitheater and the people there ROCK! This has deff. been one of our favorite days on the tour... Thank you SEATTLE for the amazing scenery and experience... :)

July 13, 2003 Sacramento, CA
Update From Sacramento!!
Hey what's up everyone... we are sorry for the lack of updates on the website... It is partially due to the lack of area while driving through certain areas... as well as our computer getting a virus, which needed to be cleaned off in order for it to start working properly again... Everything has been going great over the last couple days, we've been working our asses off and the crowds have been amazing...
On the way back from Portland Jeff and I (Edgar), busted a 18 hour drive, BY OURSELVES... it was intense... we would like to thank the wonderful people at hansen and redbull for their wonderful energy drink concoctions... :)
While driving on the 5, there was a huge fire on the other side of the freeway and we decided to document it all... (HERE IS A RAD PIC)

ARIZONA IS EFFIN HOT!
Well... Arizona was deff. one of the coolest but most definitely UN COOLEST (pun intended) places we have ever been!! Arizona had a steady temperature of 116 Or at least it felt that way... The day was super hot everyone was sweaty and suffering but in the night it all paid off...
NHOI/Pennywise and SUM 41 through one of the biggest parties this warped tour has seen... over 500 chipotle burritos were eaten by everyone at warped over 300 dollars worth of beer was drank and so much fun was had by all, this was definitely one of the highlights of the tour so far...
We would like to thank our buddies rufio, matchbook romance, bowling for soup and over it who also helped out in their own ways... With that being SAID... head on over to the fan of the day page to see who made it!!!

Hello Cosmik!
Warped Tour is by far the raddest tour in the world. Things are way better
than we would have ever expected this year and we couldn't be having more fun
doing anything else. The crowds have been amazing and all of the bands and
crew are like one big happy family. We have bar-b-ques every night after the
shows and everyone hangs out and parties till bus call. A few nights ago in
Arizona we through a party with Sum 41 and Pennywise cause it was their last show.
We had Chipotle bring 500 burritos and we filled up a bunch of trash cans
with beer. It was off the hizzle and we were way stoked. I don't remember how the night ended for me and I heard the same thing from a hand full of people the next day in New Mexico. Haha, that's always a sign of a good night!

we are stuck...
Well... we have some sad/funny news...
We are stuck... no joke... we are at a Texaco food mart in Schirts, Texas... because something is wrong with our RV... We don't know exactly what's wrong with it, but we are trying to get it fixed... this is our second day, stuck here in the station... Its kinda funny, but it has almost turned into torture because we cant move anywhere... and we are taking up two pumps...
Check out our photos and video section for funny photos from the gas station...
- Edgar
P.S. the band is not missing any shows, they are traveling with the tour, with some friends of ours... (Nosh and Edgar are the only 2 souls in the RV) :)
P.S.S HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT (he's in the photos and video section, the one with the painted mohawk!!!) U rawk dude!
Also July 20, 2003 Houston, TX
We're in Houston, TX now and we just finished another long ass super hot day. But it was a great day and we could not have been happier with the turn out. It's up in the air every day as to what time each band plays and it's kinda like luck of the draw or a big scramble and the list comes out just 5 minutes before doors open. We played late in the day today at 6:30 and even then I felt like I was maybe going to pass out and have a heat stroke during the set. But I put it all beside me when I see how rad all of the kids in the crowd are while they rock out with us super hard singing every word with us. I think I saw more home made NHOI shirts and NHOI painted faces and bodies today more than any other city so far. We have the next two days off and a long drive to Atlanta, GA. I can't believe it's been a month already since we started Warped tour in Idaho and we have left than a month to go. I am really going to miss everything about this tour. All of the bands are our best friends and with the crew as well we are one big super happy family. Our days off are fun together. We all stay at the same hotel and go bowling or fishing or to water parks or to the local malls or to the movies and party hard of course. We're going to take off now. We drive a lot slower than all of the tour busses. They hall ass at like 85 or 90 while we cruise about 65 in our RV. But we just threw in OLD SCHOOL in the DVD player and we have a few other good ones on deck. I'll give you another update tomorrow. Check you late.

Yo Atlanta, Ga was crazy and we didn't think the show was still gonna go down cause it was raining harder than I have ever seen in my life. But Warped tour is rain or shine so the show went on. Our tent was set up in a huge puddle and we made a bridge out of planks of wood that we found and the bridge made it possible to walk up to our table. It was pretty funny anc clever. We got a lot of compliments on it. The show went really well after all though and we had a lot of fun.

July 24, 2003 Orlando, FL
well...
In The last couple days everything has been going awesome... Elmo's birthday was yesterday and it went off PERFECT.... The day started off with a happy birthday song at 2 in the morning then went strait to a breakfast prepared by none other than Nosh... ( Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast, waffles, grits and apple sauce.) To top it all off we went to the movies and had a blast playing C-LO in the RV.

Also July 24, 2003 Orlando, FL
It's good to be in Florida again. We had a long ass drive to Orlando and it's as hot and muggy as always here. It's been a while since we've played here and it was great to see so many NHOI fans showing love with their home made shirts and rockin out with us sick whilel we played. We've been playing the Ernie Ball Stage all this week and it's set up allows for a fun set fir us and them. I ripped my shin open today while jumping from the stage over the monitor speakers and over the barrier and into the crowd. One leg made it the other didn't and I have a gnarly gash now that looks really good and the bruise in my leg makes it hard for me to even walk. But it's all good. We just had a bar-b-que and everyone is partying pretty hard right now. All of the guys from Simple Plan and Matchbook Romance are here now and our RV is so loud and shanking pretty heavily from all the people in it. I gotta get going. Just wanted to make this post before i got a little too shitty myself. Check you late.

July 25, 2003 St. Petersburg, FL
Duuuude - Last night was out of control. We had a really late bus call of 3AM because our drive was only a few hours to Tampa. I've been hearing so many funny and crazy stories from everyone today. One guy in a band jumped got so drunk he thought hecan jump in the lake and swim out to touch a pole and make it back all for 20 dollars that everyone would pitch in. There was a big alligator in there that they didn't know about, started creeping over to attack or whatever, someone else jumped in and like shooed the alligator away with splaching water...saved his life...crazy shit. A few wild stories like that. I heard about a few people peeing their bed last night too. haha. Beyond that, todays show is awesome. It's 6:30 now and we just got done playing. The show was so rad but you can not believe how hot it is out there. But the nicest and most beautiful location ever on the beach. Im going to head over there now. Everyones been swimming out in the ocean and just kinda enjoying the location today. Off to Miami tomorrow. Talk to you then.

This week has been a very big week for our band as well as for myself... In Miami my parents came out and saw me for the first time ever... (I mean EVER)... it was something really important to me... and I was stoked that they could make it out... (check out the photos and video page to see Greg's folks watching the set)
It's really hard having a cast on this tour, because it's almost impossible not to sweat, but its all worth it when we see everyone singing along to our songs and stuff.... I appreciate everyone's support and I cant wait to meet every single one of you...
Thanks again!

Jeff Does The News!!
What up kids!!! Jeff here giving you an update from the road. Right now it's about ten at night, and we're enjoying our first day off after playing ten straight warped dates! We're on our way to Detroit which is going to rock because it's Rick's home town. The last few shows have been amazing, thanks to all of our homies that came to see us in Virginia Beach, DC, and Charlotte. We'd also like to give a huuuuge shout out to all of our Boston fans, and let you know that we're going to rock together when we come back with Bowling For Soup. Keep rockin the NHOI and we'll see you soon.
- Jeff
The Warped Tour continued through August 10th, unfortunately we at Comsik had a date with the virtual press. DJ did express to us a bit of regret at the approaching end of the tour along with some shenanigans involving rubber bands, matches and a whole lot of, er, warped behavior onstage by one of the other bands. Amazingly no one got busted.
In any case, NHOI tours so much that it's just a matter of time before they play near you. Check 'em out!
