CYPRESS HILL
Till Death Do Us Part (Columbia)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
A step back from the ferocious Stoned Raiders slab, Till Death Do Us Part reverts to a "more smoke less bombs" approach. The air is thick indeed as the Hill thump down classic meaty beats and hilarious rhymes in stellar Latino hiphop fashion. The Hill throw in a curveball by inviting Rancid's Tim Armstrong for a snippet of the Clash's "Guns of Brixton". Lessee: The Hill doing Rancid doing the Clash doing dub Reggae. Out of the strike zone I'm afraid. Still when B-Real, Sen Dog and DJ Muggs are doing their thing there are few equals. Sure to please the weed audience, though a little more fire couldn't hurt.
