Year in a Red Room (Substandard Records)
Reviewed by Holly Day
I think if I'd heard this album maybe 20 years ago, I wouldn't mind it
nearly so much, but as it is, I've heard so many hundreds and hundreds of
bands that sound just like this one that all I can think is, "What's the
point?" Do we really need another indistinguishable pop-punk band that
utilizes the occasional minor chord for added "edginess," melodic vocals
about what, being angry or being in love or a general frustration with the
world? Apparently we do, because these records keep coming out, and people
keep buying them.
