LANGHORNE SLIM
The Electric Love Letter (Narnack)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
In a very short span Langhorne Slim manages to accomplish a helluva lot. Biting cowpunk twang, pew kneeling gospel grovel, stirring nasal folk, and a punchy turn on the stage before a reeling crowd; Langhorne does it all, and does it with just the right dash of panache. Slim fits right in with the anti-folk lower east side scene that spawned the likes of Beck, except there's a good helping of humour to go along with all that talent. Betcha can't help yalping, hooting an' clapping along with the crowd as the slab comes to a fitting close.
