The second installment of Harry Potter is better in many ways than the first. Mostly its enhanced charm comes from the fact that it's a real mystery this time and the story doesn't dwell so much on setup - the requisite orientation to Hogwarts, the mechanics of quidditch and the like. It's every bit as beautiful and lavish as the first though and it's sure to please if you have any attraction to Harry Potter at all. Simply put, it's a whole lot of fun. But still kids stuff. Bring on the Two Towers, thank you.
The Skinny:
Am I glad I saw the film: Yes, everybody loves this kind of hot buttered popcorn.
Would I go to see it again: What with a 10 year old and a 12 year old, it is a certainty I'll see it again on video, but the big screen, probably not.
