CUFF THE DUKE
Life Stories For Minimum Wage (Three Gut Records)

Reviewed by John Sekerka

Mere babes in the woods, well uh, suburbs, Cuff The Duke come off like wizened dark country veterans forging new musical waters, sliding guitars and spilling chilling lines in gripping fashion. The vocals give the kids away, but all that'll change. Whiskey or puberty or both will take care of that. Not that they sound like a band in the making, Cuff The Duke are already there. There's no suppressing talent, and folks, we have it here in spades. Is there room for a Canadian version of Wilco? You betcha! This is what boy bands should really be.
