Upbeat, funky acid jazz that does a wonderful job mixing keyboards and
electronic blips and buzzes with world music in a way that I haven't heard
done so well before. There are songs here that feature wonderful vocals from
a variety of sources that range from high-pitched Indian female singers to
much lower, almost Gregorian chant male vocals to voices fed through a
vocoder that could be either male or female. Obviously the overall purpose
of the music was to bring Eastern Western music styles together without
compromising the integrity of either - so many of these attempts end up being
quirky dance music - here, they have succeeded beautifully.
