Did I mention that there's a fella in the band by the name of Johnny Volume? Gotta love those Scandinavians - who woulda thunk that they'd take over the American stronghold on driving rock and roll, what with all their umlahs, Ikea furniture and everything - it just didn't seem possible. Hailing from icy Finland, The Flaming Sideburns follow hot on the heels of the Swedish invasion with a roaring slab of garage rock as American as apple pie. And hoo-boy, can these Fins play. Lead vocalist, visually arresting frontman, the very un-Finnish Eduardo Martinez has a thundering set of pipes, and gives the band a decidedly Question Mark and the Mysterians vibe. The good times are rolling, and they're coming outta, gulp, Northern Europe.
