IKARA COLT
Chat And Business (Fantastic Plastic/Epitaph)

What fun! Open the digipack to reveal three groups of empty white boxes (twelve each) and a sheet containing stickers. The task is to match the images with the blurbs below the white spaces. And wait there's more: some music on the CD thing as well! And that's fun too. Herky jerky art punk in that stop start Wire/Fall kinda way. Cool, dissonant vocals, buzzsaw guitars, sparse keyboards, pummeling drum rolls, and angular arrangements. Hey, this is early eighties tightly wound post punk. Ikara Colt have that cool, bored, ready to explode stance down pat, and since Elastica haven't seen fit to exploit their early success, the time for this could not be riper.
