JACOB MOON
The World I Left Behind (Moonbeam Music)
Reviewed by Holly Day
Urgh! Aargh! Blaugh! Adult contemporary elevator pop with deep, soulful
singing, incredibly dull and predictable arrangements, vapid lyrics about
love and suspicion and wonderin'. It's so sad, because someone in this
outfit has money, because this is recorded very well, clean and crisp and
professionally, but the songs themselves are so painfully flimsy and
personally irritating that they make the hair on the back of my neck stand
up. They're just so trite and stereotypical that I can tell exactly where
each song's going to go and what's going to rhyme with what - there's no
point in even listening to more than the first 2 seconds of any track.
