KARL SANDERS
Saurian Meditation (Relapse)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Let's cut to the chase shall we? There was a time when mysticism and rock made good bedfellows. But back then everyone was high as a kite 24/7, climbing mountain tops to hang with gurus, and wearing nehru jackets of their own free will! So what in blazes is Karl Sanders thinking, releasing a self-discovery slab best suited as a depravation tank soundtrack? Sure there's a couple of middle eastern grooves to wallow in, but with titles like "The Forbidden Path Across the Chasm of Self-Realization," you know yer in for a snooze fest. Maybe that's the point. Fluff the pillow.
