BUGSKULL
Distracted Snowflake Volume Two (Scratch)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
For those not in possession of Volume One, welcome to the flaky aural
fantasy world of Sean Byrne. This is a special, magical place where things
go snap, crackle and plop, whilst our man Byrne sculpts an organic,
electronic backdrop. Yes, machines can be warm and fuzzy, especially when
tweaked with that friendly fifties sci-fi analogue approach. Dreamy loops
and computer blips abound, and just when matters slip a little close to the
pretentious edge, Byrne slips in a homey guitar strum and some very human
vocals. Oh yes.
