DANKO JONES
My Love Is Bold (Sound King)

Danko Jones takes all of six seconds to set the record straight. "My mama
raised a devil child?" he belts to an oil drum beating accompaniment on the
opening strains of "Samuel Sin." And as we all know, the devil has the
inside track to real rock'n'roll. My Love Is Bold , a tasty six pack you
can't help but chug, is the liveliest bit of charisma sex music since, well,
his last EP. Jones is an uncompromising combination of style and substance,
and he struts his stuff like he's bouncing on a runway. With noted porn
filmmaker and witty scribe Bruce LaBruce in his corner, the "Mango Kid" is
destined for the attention he so dearly craves. Jones has been on the cusp
of something big for a spell now, and why he ain't been gobbled up by a
major label eager enough to throw bags of money his way so's he can afford
to lay down a full album of cowbell guitar crank rock is well beyond moi.
