IN THIS ISSUE OF COSMIK DEBRIS: Interviews with power pop heirs apparent Sugarcult and ultra cool funksters Porterhouse, an article about The Monkey Power Trio, who only meet one day a year to make some of the strangest music on record, reviews of Blackhawk Down and more CDs than you can shake a bulldozer at. In the columns column, Rusty gets philosophical about pretzels, Eric checks on the state of the blues in 2002, Gary compares Micks, and we introduce Jason Thornberry's new column, Mass Appeal Madness. Jump on in!

Audible Debris COSMIK RADIO!: Still the old show for the moment, but a new one on the way. Honest! No, really! Check back on February 15th to hear what we've cooked up. You just need a RealAudio Player to listen. If you don't have one, go pick one up. Cosmik Radio is just the kind of Net-Only audio that radio station program directors don't want you getting hooked on. So go ahead. Inhale!

SUGARCULT - Three years ago Sugarcult was playing anywhere and everywhere (and every style) just to get heard. Now they're performing with the big guys and having a blast. Rusty Pipes and Tim Pagnotta took a few minutes to talk about what they've been up to.

PORTERHOUSE - Joey Porter and Josh Cliburne are two thirty-something guys out of Portland, Oregon, who somehow combine to front an incredible funk band with an old-school sound. Shaun Dale asks the hows and whys, and finds out what's next from these guys.

MONKEY POWER TRIO - One day every year, since 1995, they meet to record some of the strangest music you'll ever hear. DIY to the point of using ladders, cans and furnace parts as drums at one time. And yet they've developed a following, they get airplay and they even got a Fox Sports commercial spot. DJ Johnson takes you as close as it is safe to get to the five man trio known as the MPT.

CD & RECORD REVIEWS - Tons, baby, tons!

EVERYTHING ELSE IN REVIEW - Not as many tons.

MASS APPEAL MADNESS - Jason Thornberry's column debuts with the question... is rock dead? Again?

CLOSET PHILOSOPHY - The Terrorist Pretzel and other tales, by Rusty Pipes.

PIGSHIT - Gary Pig Gold's A Tale Of Two Micks.

COSMIK BLUES - Eric Steiner looks at the state of the blues in '02.

CREDITS - The names and e-mail addresses of the people responsible for this thing.

COSMIK RADIO - Want an hour of music that fits the personality of Cosmik Debris Magazine? That's right, Sinatra segues into Megadeth into Peter Tosh into Man Or Astro-Man into... well, you get the picture. It's a little something we like to call Genre Whiplash. Or maybe you're in the mood for a trip into The Fog Machine, our mix of music of the ethereal variety. All you need is a RealAudio player. Come on in.

OUR OWN WEBSITES - Many of the Cosmik Debris writers have websites of their own. We have some links right here.
