The Best Of Bond (Capitol)

This will appeal to one group of people only: fans of the James Bond flicks.
Fortunately for Capitol Records, that only narrows it down to a few hundred
million people. As a fan myself, I have to admit it's great fun to listen
to these 19 theme songs, each one bringing back a flood of escapist cinema
memories. Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger," awesome under any circumstances,
conjures memories of golden women, laser beams getting personal, and "no, Mr.
Bond, I expect you to DIE!" Paul McCartney's "Live And Let Die" rocks, but
I hear the jazz musicians at the New Orleans funeral procession. Every song
is a mini-movie for those of us who have grown up waiting for the next Bond
flick, be it a Connery, Moore, Lazenby, Brosnan or Dalton. Doesn't matter
which. Bond is Bond, and nobody does it better.
