SUPERSUCKERS
Evil Powers Of Rock & Roll (Twenty14)

Ooooh boy, this is one of the hottest slabs of rock and roll since... well,
since their last album. Which was COUNTRY! The band that restored Seattle's
good name among garage rawk fans delivers again on 13 hot, distortion-soaked
tunes dripping with humor and mischief.
The title track is my choice for
rocker of the year, and how can you resist a song called "I Want The Drugs?"
Bassist/vocalist Eddie Spaghetti knows how to incite a riot whether it's in
a club, concert hall, or your living room. I don't care if you're a bored
CPA by day, just try to get through this album without overturning a couch
or making a prank phone call. I dare ya.
If you loved Must've Been High as much as the rest of us did, you'll
appreciate the country touches here, ever-so thinly sliced as to be
invisible to those who aren't looking for them, such as the travelin' theme
of "Goin' Back To Tucson." But the thing that makes me happiest is thinking
that somewhere in the Seattle night, in adjoining rehearsal studios,
Supersuckers are probably playing so freakin' loud and hard that the Pearl
Jam boys can't hear themselves think.
