BLEED
Motor Psycho (MuSick Recordings)

Power trio garage rock in the great American tradition. They borrow quite a few things along
the way, like the scream and vibe from The Sonics "Psycho" and large chunks of the Ritchie
Valenz classic, "Donna," but they pour hearts and souls into it, so it seems totally
forgivable. There are several moments of inspired, pure, sweaty rock and roll in the
Northwest tradition of the early 60s, prime among them "She's All Mine," a song that would
fit into a comp with The Wailers, Sonics, Frantics and Raiders without raising suspicion.
"Heart Breaker" is built on a guitar hook that just plain rips, and come to think of it,
you could put that on that Northwest comp, too. Hmm... same with "The Goon." In fact,
put these guys in a time machine, have 'em play Lake Hills, and within a week I'll betcha
dollars to brewskies The Sonics are playing "Devil Woman" and "The Goon." Isn't it funny
how some of the best 60s Northwest bands are 00s Milwaukee boys. I wanna flip through
their record collections. But I'll tell ya what, I'll be following the career of this band.
They can only be good for rock 'n' roll. Oh, and PS: not one cover song! Kick it, Bleed.
