JILL SCOTT
Experience (Hidden Beach)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Who am I to get in the way of a movement? Jill Scott is here, she has a Grammy,
and people just love her. She's sassy, has a soothing voice and reaches across
the pop and soul charts with ease. It's smooth jazz with a hiphop-lite attitude
that speaks to the masses tired of in your face misogynist fat rap cats. Jill
Scott is a blessing for a certain demographic; you can hear them cheering wildly
on this exhaustive double disc live set. Apparently bland R'n'B is in. Nobody
told me, dang it.
