LEAVING TRAINS
Emotional Legs (Steel Cage)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Whoah baby, the Leaving Trains do rock! Whammo blammo spirited rawkinglamroll
played with enough dexterity to prick up ears, and enough looseness to enjoy
staying power. A delicate balance, my friends, and few can pull it off. Twelve
official anthems led by the thunderous "Big Baby," and a plethora of tacked on
tracks (is this some long lost Trains album?) make this an ideal stocking
stuffer. Cross-dressing frontman about L.A. town, surviving ex-hubbie to
Courtney "where is the" Love, and master of the double innuendo, Falling James
has always possessed the elusive gift of spitting out addictive melodic punk
laced with brilliant sarcasm, and the new record comes just in time to ruin yer
holidays. Gawd bless 'im.
