Singing about rock stars proved so successful for Nerf Herder ("Van Halen" on the last record) that they've decided to flog that horse till it is truly dead. Easy targets like Courtney Love, Elton John, Pantera and Morrissey get the business Eddie Haskell style, but there is some underlying homage of the heartfelt variety that seeps in ("Jonathan" Richman for instance), and makes this a most palpable slice of bubblegum punk.
