The fun record run of Billy Bacon continues with a compilation of Tex-Mex swingers. The tunes run from campy frivolity to serious accordion numbers, as Billy pays homage to his heroes Doug Sahm and Freddie Fender, mixing a couple of standards among his spicy originals. Sahm paid Billy the ultimate compliment by recording his excellent "Una Mas Cerveza", which stands well besides the classics of the genre, and is included here. The other album highlights are a rollicking live version of "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" and the closing "Wooly Bully". Billy sure knows how to throw a party, and I bet he swallows the worm.
