CHOMSKY
A Few Possible Selections For The
Soundtrack Of Your Life (Idol)

Funny, they don't sound Texans...

Idol Records has picked up Chomsky's A Few Possible Selections..., which was self-released to considerable acclaim in the band's Dallas-Fort Worth stomping grounds a while back. Hopefully the hook up with a label will get them some well deserved attention (and rack space) away from home, because it's a fine album whose appeal should reach far beyond regional.

If you're looking for Old 97's (perhaps the most famous Idol band, before their Electra deal) style roots music, well, there are plenty of bands doing that, none of which is Chomsky. This is classic pop with a new-wave edge, pretty familiar territory that's been explored by many a band, but rarely as well as you'll find here. Any one of the 10 tracks here could be plucked from the CD and provide an immediate upgrade to the playlist of any radio station in the country. Get a copy, slap it into your CD player and it will provide an immediate upgrade to your mood. And now it should be a damn sight easier to find.

Track List:

2 Steps * Man Of The Hour * Song For Girls * Sigmund * Warm * Road * Follow * Mason * Tape Number 7 * Need
