GUTTERMOUTH
Covered With Ants (Epitaph)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
With, and I quote: "beer in their hair and vomit on their toes", chug-a-lug punk
pranksters Guttermouth unleash another offensive salvo to keep the politically
correct tisking for another year. Covered With Ants is a smashing, drinking
record that'll have Guinness coming outta yer nose as you thrash about to the
thing called punk rock. This is the real deal, played raw, spirited and
throbbing. As a closing curveball, Guttermouth wrap the record with a three part
opus. "Cram It Up Your Ass" starts as a distant whisper with a teency bit of
acoustic guitar before blowing up real good into an anthemic growl, and after a
brief pause concludes with a rather impressive piano version of the refrain. The
band in a nut shell: "I still believe in anarchy / pardon me but I have to pee."
There ya go.
