JESSE POWELL
JP (MCA)

Jesse Powell took his time following 1998's platinum urban/pop hit, 'Bout It, but JP reveals that the time was worth taking. Powell, who starts off with a remarkable four octave vocal range, co-wrote all twelve tracks on this ballad heavy collection and gave each track the performance and production attention it took to separate him from a crowded pack. The result is a rarity in an genre that usually features a revolving roster of interchangeable performers. It's a distinctively personal album with music that seems to have been written and performed for the long haul. It's only Powell's third album release, but it carries the seeds of promise for many more. Remember soul music? Jesse Powell does, and you'll appreciate the result. Track List: It'll Take The World * If I * I'm Leaving * Go Upstairs * I Didn't Realize * I'd Rather Be Alone * Invisible Man * After We Make Love * Can't Take It * Take My Breath Away * On Your Mind * Something In The Past
