THE MOVIEES
Become One Of Them (Sundazed)
Reviewed by Shaun Dale
Well, they got me. I slapped this one in the player took a look at the
cover and started wondering how Sundazed managed to do it again. I mean,
how could music this good have gone undiscovered for 35 years? I've
always thought of myself as being pretty knowledgeable about the British
Invasion bands, even some of the most obscure ones, but these guys
shouldn't have been that obscure. Sure, they wore their Who influences on
their sleeves, but hey, that could be said about lots of bands. How did I
miss them for all these years?
Surprise. Erase all the past tenses in those sentences, folks. They've
got the look, style and sound of mid-60s Brit rock down pat, but The
Moviees aren't an all but forgotten bit of history. They're busy writing
history (and terrific songs) right now! If your tastes run to the Who,
Troggs, Kinks or any of the hard pounding maximum R&B garage dwellers of
the sixties, this stuff is gonna delight you. Music to turn up! As the
gawdz of golden era garage were wont to say, Boy Howdy!
