Well, I certainly don't need more than this three-song sampler to know what this band is about. With a name like "Legends of Rodeo" and songs with titles like "The Flags" and "American Love," it's easy to imagine that these guys would be heavily influenced by neo-Americana rock, like Soul Asylum and Tom Petty etc., and they are. The lead singer is particularly Dave Pirner-like in sound - so much so it makes me wish I liked Soul Asylum since I had to sit through this album. Lots of metronomic drumming and repetitive guitar riffs to go along with the vocals, too-whoo-hoo!
