THE SONS OF FRUITY METCALF
Honky (self released)

The failure of language is precisely why I'm unable to properly sum up how this record makes impact with my senses. It's an understatement to describe it as a six-car pile-up on Highway 138 on the way to Wrightwood, California, with an Ennio Morriconne soundtrack, and country-rock over/undertones. I'll just declare that I think it's an artistic transgression that albums are released, pimped, and pushed onto us daily through the MTV and McRadio viaducts that spend so much time saying nothingatall.

I want to see Shitney attempt some thong-tonsillitis dance moves to "When You Poopie":

"Sometimes I feel sexy even when I'm on the can."

Or how about 'NSYNC putting their chapped lips on:

"Look, babe, I'm sorry that I hosted swinger retreats, and I used your videos to get us all horny with your gigantic jugs.

Do me a favor: Find these guys and give them a record contract, so I can stop listening to 38 Special!
