None More Black went and made a line from This is Spinal Tap their own slice of reality -- by coincidence. The swinging saloon doors bring a new percussionist or bass player every few hours, so a song like "Zero Tolerance Drum Policy" could confirm a logical exasperation. Despite - or because of - this, their debut album File Under Black's inner strength is that it appeals to those whose resentment is too real to base a profession around. The fact that NMB don't appear conscious of the idea they might be a "punk" band is what makes this punk -- albeit a melodic hybrid not to be mistaken for jock-core or suntan punk, since this band's too busy being livid to think about the weather.
