TRAVOLTAS
Travoltas Party! (Knock Knock Records)

Reviewed by Alan Wright

From the amazing Beach Boys parody CD design, to the overall lighthearted aspect of the recording, this CD adds up to fun, fun, fun (until your daddy takes your T-Bird away). Like the famed Beach Boys album of the same name from the mid-60s, which spawned the hit single "Barbara Anne," this CD is an acoustic "live" party record. Nowadays everyone calls this kind of stuff "unplugged." The Travoltas, the Swedish kings of happy surf-pop-punk run though a set of their faves, with people partying and clapping along in the background. Besides Travoltas classics like "Do The Gal-i-gator," "Pray For Sun," and "Endless Summer" there are covers of the Beach Boys' "Little Honda" and "Barbara Ann" and a great version of Bad Religion's "Sorrow." This is really excellent.
