Battleaxe Warriors 3 (Battle Axe Recs)

The boys holding up the banner of Vancouver,
Canada's Battle Axe crew are some of the best
MC's hip-hop has to offer, be it alternative rap,
thug rap, underground jamz, overground pop shit,
or wherever. For roll call there's Buc Fifty, Son
Doobie (from Funkdoobiest), Mr. Brady, Swollen
Members, Abstract Rude, Moka Only (who rejoined
Swollen), producer Rob The Viking, and their
friends. With a crew like this coming together
like that you know that you're in for some hits
-- and the occasional miss too. Maybe. "No One
Loves Me" by Moka Only is my favorite, but Mr.
Brady excelled on his cuts as well, and the newly
introduced Sweatshop Union made me keen for the
full-length. Son Doobie and Sick Jacken ranked
high enough that this third installment of
Battle Axe Warriors is long-ish, but lean.
No filler, no skits, and no intros. Even the very
short instrumental by Rob The Viking held my
attention, and didn't seem like something they
didn't bring the rhymes for.
