DAMNATION
Drunk & Stupid (RAFR)

Reviewed by DJ Johnson

Like all bands on RAFR (Rock And Fuckin' Roll) Records, Damnation fires off a wall of sound with huge distorted guitars, bass in the lowest part of the EQ spectrum, and breakneck drumming that forces you to try to keep up on your desktop until your hands ache. And like most RAFR releases, it's over before you have a chance to actually break any bones. Seven minutes, fifty-one seconds. Six songs. It's quality time, but I dunno... eight minutes? Doesn't seem worth the time to do the artwork and pressing. Is this a CD single for a full length jobbie? Hmmm... nope, this is it. Well then! Evaluating this for what it is (short) and what it does (rock) for what it's worth (your call), I'd say Drunk & Stupid is the equivalent of an old fashioned Mike Tyson first round KO: fast, loud and exhilarating. Then again, evaluating it for what it also is (ten bucks for under 8 minutes of music), I'd say it also leaves you feeling like those that paid 50 dollars for the Tyson vs. Spinks pay-per-view: screwed.
