AGENT ORANGE
Sonic Snake Session (Restless)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
A band who missed out on the golden egg by exactly twenty years, Agent Orange delivered punk/spy/surf/pop in Fullerton, California in the early eighties. And since guitarist Mike Palm could actually play, the trio dabbled well outside the usual skateboarding circles, cranking out frenzied versions of "Pipeline", "Shakin' All Over" and "Somebody To Love" to go along with the Dead Kennedys' "Police Truck." Good stuff this. Some cracker originals too, like "Bite The Hand That Feeds Part 2," and "Bloodstains." Then the pop part, which wasn't so hot, but that's personal taste, many liked that too. Anyhoo, for anyone looking to consolidate their Agent Orange EP collection, this double CD pack is where it's at. It includes the kicking "Real Live Sound" slab which shows, as is often the case, that this was a great concert band.
