Dead Teenager Records is home to old fashioned hard rockers Dirty Power and Camarosmith. There's enough voltage between the two bands to power a good sized state for as long as the beer holds out. Angry Amputees sound nothing like those bands. This is melodic punk with a snarling front woman (Stacey Dee, vocals and guitar) who makes most of the songs sting by taking the Joan Jett attitude route. There actually is an amputee in the band, though from all accounts he's not particularly angry. Dalty is pretty damned amazing. He has no legs and no fingers. He has something like a claw on one hand for playing the bass. You'd never know from listening. In 1989, Dalty became the world's first survivor of Bacterial Meningitis. Amazing. Slut Bomb is a good Jack Endino-produced punk rock album with some generic tunes and a small handful of songs that really stand out. "Psycho Bitch" and "Put Me To Bed" are both worthy rockers all dressed up and ready for college airplay, and they're just the kind of songs that get it, so keep an ear open for them.
