THE POSTMAN SYNDROME
Terraforming (Now Or Never)

Reviewed by DJ Johnson

It's dumbfounding to realize this is just The Postman Syndrome's first release, because the music they play is so technically demanding, and they perform it with such precision, you'd swear they'd been together for twenty years. Terraforming, like any music, can be listened to casually if one chooses to do so, but that would be a shame. This is music that deserves full attention. So many forks in the river are explored and so many discoveries are made along the way that the CD stands up to back-to-back-to-back listenings for the those who truly want to take it all in. For some, it'll definitely be too much. After all, not everyone can handle a band that is playing achingly beautiful, ethereal, classical-based music one moment, high-tech fusion the next before moving right into a passage of thrash metal. Terraforming is a stunner and winner, and hopefully just the first of many from this terrifically creative group of players.
