I'll Take It With Me is an EP CD from Brian Mundy, formerly of the group Kooken & Hoomen. The music, featuring guitar and piano, is folk with a hint of jazz. Containing winsome, thoughful songs addressing emotional issues, the CD is highly listenable. As the promotional notes state, birdWire "illustrates with tender gravity the stages of goodbye, the indelible grief of ending, and the determined optimism about renewal amidst grief." Mundy takes an adult approach to music that is refreshingly honest and admirable. His singing, though occasional off-key, is effective, projecting heartfelt warmth. Overall, the six songs on this EP are well written and thoughtful. Raw and emotional, I'll Take It With Me is a worthy effort by Mundy. As he gets his feet under his solo career, Mundy should be an artist to reckon with.
