LIBERTINE
See You In The Next Life (Substandard)

I can't figure out if this guy's trying to imitate Tim Armstrong of Rancid
or if he just can't sing. The band generates a ton of power, but without
hooks all that power comes off like a 7 course meal, each course Jello.
The same flavor. Too damned bad, because Libertine has a killer sound going,
and they come close to something great with "Beautiful Disaster," a song for
Marilyn Monroe which at least has that power and a cool little chorus happening.
They just need to get the songwriting thing together and come up with some
hooks to hold the listener's interest. As it stands, the "next" button
gets a workout.
