IN THIS ISSUE OF COSMIK DEBRIS: Our third interview with one of the best (and most overlooked) talents on the planet, Mike Keneally, formerly with Frank Zappa, now the main enabler of Beer For Dolphins; The world loses steel string guitar legend John Fahey, but rather than mope, we've decided a fond look back is much better; Jeff Beck's tour bus pulls into Los Angeles for a memorable show; Eric Steiner takes his kids to see the Backstreet Boys and gets t'thinkin' about the teen idols of his youth; Butch Trucks Band live in Oregon (in Everything Else In Review). All this plus reviews, columns, and all that which you expect to find in the pages of Cosmik Debris Magazine.

Audible Debris COSMIK RADIO!: Cosmik Radio is Megadeth followed by Sinatra followed by Yellowman followed by Iggy. Sick, huh? And we finally got the new stuff we've been whining about so we could make a new show and get those Christmas songs OUTTA there!!! You just need a RealAudio Player to listen. If you don't have one, go pick one up. Cosmik Radio is just the kind of Net-Only audio that radio station program directors don't want you getting hooked on. So go ahead. Inhale!

MIKE KENEALLY - Hoooo boy, can this guy play! Frank Zappa knew it, Steve Vai knows it... just about everybody inside the entertainment world is aware that Mike Keneally is a phenom on both guitar and keyboards, but the vast majority of the public still hasn't got a clue. Maybe his new album, Dancin', a feast of power and pop and gentle and tough can change things a bit. Rusty Pipes sits down for a chat that makes Mr. Keneally our first 3-time interviewee.

JOHN FAHEY: 1939-2001 - His career in music had been both wonderful and unusual, bringing us sounds ranging from breathtakingly beautiful to uniquely psychedelic. When John Fahey died last month after sextuple bipass surgery, we lost someone truly special. Dan Forte remembers this remarkable musician.

JEFF BECK LIGHTS UP L.A. - The man just doesn't get old! How is that possible? Well, here it is, 2001... what is that, 73 years after his first album? No? Whatever it is, Jeff Beck still has eight fingers, two thumbs, and probably at least one other appendage on the pulse of what is hip in music, as anyone who was at the Universal Amphitheater for his recent gig will tell you. Don't believe me? Well here comes Rusty Pipes. He was there. Ask him!

A COSMIK TAKE ON THE BACKSTREET BOYS - Eric Steiner gets roped into taking the kids to the BSB concert. As his mind is being shattered by the piercing screams of 30,000 thirteen year olds, he begins to think back to the music that caused similar ruckuses in years gone by.

CD & RECORD REVIEWS - Everything from rock to jazz to hip-hop and back again.

OTHER REVIEWS - Movies, books, and other things.

PIGSHIT - Gary's famous '8 Questions' are put to Rob Morgan from PopLUST Magazine. Twister with whom? Which song? Which guitar? Ginger or Mary Anne?

CLOSET PHILOSOPHY - As we get older, the mind is one of the first things to go, or so they say. Not so our resident phisosopher, as you'll soon see. A milestone birthday approaches fast, and he has some thoughts on that, which lead to thoughts on... Well, you know Rusty. They could lead anywhere. Climb aboard the Philosophy Shuttle.

TUNING IN TIME - So you've got a good start on your collection of old time radio shows in MP3 format and now you want to burn some to Audio CDs for friends. It's doable. DJ Johnson made a huge stack of them for his dad for Christmas. Wasn't as simple as he thought.

CREDITS - The names and e-mail addresses of the people responsible for this thing.

COSMIK RADIO - Want an hour of music that fits the personality of Cosmik Debris Magazine? That's right, Sinatra segues into Megadeth into Peter Tosh into Man Or Astro-Man into... well, you get the picture. It's a little something we like to call Genre Whiplash. Or maybe you're in the mood for a trip into The Fog Machine, our mix of music of the ethereal variety. All you need is a RealAudio player. Come on in.

INTERNET RADIO STATIONS - Great radio is alive and well on the Net! Cosmik Debris presents links to take you where the good ones are hiding, from St. Louis to Dublin. You're no longer stuck with just the "classic rock," "young country" and "24-hour talk" that has your town held hostage.

OUR OWN WEBSITES - Many of the Cosmik Debris writers have websites of their own. We have some links right here.
