Could be the cream of Fat Mike's current roster, the Swingin' Utters offer up the requisite punk anthems for the young generation, but like Social Distortion did once, they deliver the goods with passion and enough musical twists to avoid the redundant pile. Johnny Bonnel also sounds a helluva lot like Mike Ness. The Utters show a welcome diversity, slipping into rockabilly mode, and even a touch of the Pogues at times, delivering a pretty fine album.
