Reggae Floorfillers (Music Club)

One of the basic lines of reggae mythology is that there was a time when
giants walked the earth, producing nothing but music of supreme
consciousness until the evil dancehallers took over, introduced slackness
to the lyrics and convinced the people that the music had something to do
with something you do with your body.
Reggae was, of course, dance music in the first place, long before the
term "dancehall" was used as anything more than a description of the place
on the corner where you danced to reggae. Now, I love a good conscious
reggae lyric as much as anyone, but it was after all no less a reggae
saint than Nesta Bob Marley his own self that invited us all to have a
"Funky Reggae Party."
A funky reggae party is just what's in store for you on this new Music
Club compilation. The fifteen tracks are all drawn from the late sixties
and early seventies, just about the time reggae was starting to make an
international impact. As a result, some of these songs will be very
familiar, like Desmond Dekker's hit "Israelites," or Delroy Wilson's
"Better Must Come." Others may be brand new to all but the old hands or
dedicated archivists among you. None will disappoint. This is the good
stuff, folks, the stuff that will make you want to do something with your
body.
The producer's recommend dancing. I recommend using your imagination.
