HONKY
House of Good Tires (Hall of Records)
Reviewed by Holly Day
Oh, this is even too incredibly juvenile for me to appreciate, and that's
saying something. It's as though a bunch of guys that had been practicing
Molly Hatchet cover songs in their garages since they were 12 got together
to form a band, then attempted to write their own songs from that limited
base of experience. The songs are, of course, all about how good they are in
bed, getting into fights, the perks of being a good ol' boy, and playing
with guns. For an added touch, all the letters in the song titles are made
up of nekked ladies in provocative poses, which should have tipped me off to
what I was in for before I even put the record on.
