JOHN SURETTE & THE DENIROS
Self-titled (Self-released)

Reviewed by Jason Thornberry

Go back in time to 1988. Heavy metal was riding high, with no Nirvana in sight. Nowadays the Sunset Strip Rawk Godz all sell amps at Guitar Center, and it's a little harder to find people to give your hair-extensions a once over. Time is meaningless to Mr. Surette, or his co-ed co-op. Hard-rockin' tunes, dude, and great time-capsule guitar pyrotechnics. I'm sure when Def Leppard et al becomes in vogue again, they'll be ready. Bong on!
